To support the efforts of the Cloud Social community management team, my team concepted, designed, and deployed a series of GIFs on Giphy to encourage enagement and foster interaction in the "language" that people naturally speak online. We created GIFs featuring venerable Microsoft icon Clippy parodying popular reaction GIFs, and more standard impact font meme-like GIFs. We also explored options for highlighting Microsoft products in a unique way—GIFs featuring art created in Excel, for example.
The GIF library continued to evolve based on insights from regular reporting reviews and cross-team collaborations with our community management team, which I led our design team to put into action.
In six months, our GIFs racked up 1 billion views on Giphy—and counting.
