Disney Lorcana Flavor Text and Fiction

Writing for a trading card game is storytelling at its smallest scale: just a few words bring an entire world to life. I partnered with the Lorcana narrative and design teams to shape the game’s overarching story and bring it to life through the flavor text on each card—those short bursts of dialogue or imagery that give the world its heartbeat.

Beyond the cards, I expanded the narrative through website fiction created in close collaboration with Disney stakeholders and the Lorcana creative team. Every line moved through Disney’s rigorous approval process, a rare chance to help define new corners of the studio’s storytelling universe.

The result: a rich, cohesive world that’s captivated players from day one and helped propel record-breaking sales for the game.
